AGMER is Turkey's first research center founded specifically to study family enterprise issues at the university level and remedy the dearth of insight into the grass-roots of Turkish economy. From small-to-medium scale to the largest, the overwhelming majority of Turkish enterprises are family owned, managed or controlled. And they share the same spectrum of unique strengths and vulnerabilities with their counterparts all across the world. AGMER sets out to explore and document the characteristics of family businesses, their founders and developers, the challenges they face, their interaction wıth internal and external actors, their evolution parallel to the country's economic development. Structured to carry out research, publishing and consulting, AGMER looks forward to cooperating with similar centers at home and abroad for comparative and in-depth studies.
