Course Goals
The aim of this course is to enhance the language awareness and language sensitivity of the teacher trainees and to practically emphasize the subtleties of the language via various texts by establishing correlations with linguistic, syntactic, lexicological, semantic and stylistic knowledge they acquired in other courses and to enable them to raise their awareness on how to reflect some of the cultural characteristics of their own culture in the target language.

LO-1Students will be able to analyse an English sentence in terms of its structural/communicative/contextual features, and translate it in Turkish
LO-2Students will be able to recognise the differances in usage of English in different contexts and transfer such nuances into Turkish
LO-3Students will be able to analyse the texts written in English in their contextual features and translate them into Turkish preserving the corresponding features
LO-4Students will be able to transfer the knowledge and skills they acquire through translation activities into their learning/teaching process
